At long last the Mortal Remains of Torgbui Hor II, has been finally taken Home for Burial on Saturday
All is set for the burial and final funeral rites on Saturday of Torgbui Hor II, Makorkor of Some Traditional Area in the Ketu South Municipality
of the Volta Region.
The late Chief, whose mortal remains has been in the 37 Military Hospital morgue for almost six years, has since this evening been taken home, for the people of the traditional Area to pay of their last respect.
Torgbui Hor who ruled the Some Traditional Area for 40 years, died on September 14, 2012. He succeeded Torgbui Adama ll since 1971.
The difficulties of the Traditional Council of getting a successor to the traditional seat has dragged the burial for six years.
Per the tradition, the successor to the traditional throne should be installed on the day of the late Chief burial.
Some members of the traditional authority as well as family members finally took the body from the Morgue to be laid in state for a day before burial.
According to family sources, President Nana Akufo Addo, Former Presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Mahama are expected to attend the late Torgbui Hor funeral and pay their last respect.
A family member who wish to remain anonymous for lack of authority to speak on behalf of the family described the late Torgbui Hor, as one of the “oldest and greatest chiefs” of the Volta Region. The Late Torgbui Hor was 94 years old.
