The Adabraka headquarters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be a scene of attraction today when titans of the largest opposition party beat a path there to hold a round-table discussion.
The discussion, which will come off as part of the 25th Anniversary commemoration of the party, which has produced three presidents in Ghana’s 25-year-old Fourth Republic, will attract titans, including former presidents Jerry Rawlings and John Mahama.
Under the theme: “Mirroring the Past Into The Future,” the round-table discussion will be addressed by titans, including Alhaji Hudu Yahaya, Ambassador Dan Abodakpi, Hon. Alban Sumana Bagbin, Comrade Ama Benyiwa-Doe and Comrade Edith Haizel.
It will be chaired by Alhaji Mahama Idrissu.
The discussion will be a part of a year-long 25th anniversary of the NDC, which comes on the heels of the 38th anniversary of the June 4th revolution, which eventually birthed the NDC.
Official time communicated by the party for the round-table discussion is 11 o’clock am.
Later on this Saturday, a rally will be held at Ashiaman, near Tema, which will be addressed by stalwarts, including former presidents Mahama and Jerry Rawlings.
Along with the two ex-presidents, other speakers at the rally will be party chairman, Kofi Portuphy, General Secretary Asiedu Nketia and Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrissu.
It is expected that a healing process that has started in the opposition party to close a rift between its founder and the executives, will continue with the upcoming rally.
Earlier in the year, the Minority in Parliament had called on the party founder at his Ridge home in show of due respect for the founder who has had cause to complain about the neglect of fundamental party principles of probity and accountability by the erstwhile Mahama regime.
In the celebration of the 38th anniversary of the June 4th Revolution, former President Mahama had joined other party faithful to grace the occasion which he also addressed.
