The Minority caucus in parliament,has wished all National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Executive aspirants good luck in the Saturday 23rd June, constituency executive elections.
Deputy Minority Leader, Dr James Klutse Avedzi, in an interview with THE REPUBLIC, urged the contestants to play by the rules and regulations guiding the polls.
He also appealed to them accept the outcome of the elections and accept it with equanimity.
“As Minority we wish all contestants in the Constituency executive elections well as go to the polls on Saturday 23rd June, 2018”, he wished.
Dr Avedzi who is MP for Ketu North said, the elections are internal and family affair and that the contestant should accept the outcome in good faith devoid of agitation, among others.
The NDC would tomorrow begin the all important exercise of electing officers to steer the affairs of the party in the various constituencies across the country.
The Deputy Minority Leader said, “I am fully confident in the democratic credentials of our party and our ability to ensure a smooth, transparent process in the Constituency executive elections.
The ultimate aim p, he said is to consolidate the party’s base at all levels and expressed confident that the love for the party would guide all candidates to focus on the ultimate interest.
The party is embarking on the exercise in readiness for the next general polls in 2020, pursuant to the party’s constitution.
This, the Ketu North lawmaker said, was the reason why all contestants and delegates make sure the party go through the exercise peacefully and with utmost decorum to ensure NDC emerge as one strong and united party.
