The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi Bosiako, also known as ‘Dr. Wontumi’ has inaugurated a 10-member committee to oversee the construction of the party’s office complex for the region.
The committee has been tasked to acquire land, secure funds and also to ensure a successful execution of the office complex, which, when completed, will be the first for the region.
Mr. Boasiako said that to maintain the region as the party’s stronghold, it became necessary for the Ashanti Regional NPP to have its own party office, since it would enhance activities of the party as a serious full–time party ready to make the Ashanti Region and Ghana work again.
The committee is chaired by the constituency chairman for Afigya Kwabre, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, as the representative for the constituency chairman in the region.
Other members are the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Ahafo Ano North, Madam Martina Appiah, respresenting all Municipal Metropolitan District Chief Executives (MMDCEs); the constituency chairman for Adansi Fomena, Mr. Akwasi Nti, a legal practitioner; Mr, Adom, Appiah also acting as the regional representative if the committee.
Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, Mr. Simon Osei Mensah, the Ashanti Regional Minister and a retired nurse and a key member of the party, Mrs. Mary Sarfo Atiemo, also constituted the Council of Elders, who will serve as an advisory board on the committee.
Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, the Nzemahene, who is a member of the committee, donated 1000 bags of cement to commence the project.
