The Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alban S.K. Bagbin, has revealed that his detractors are busily scheming seeking to discredit him for reasons best known to them following an announcement he may be vying for the highest office of the land.
Mr. Bagbin said he was not surprised that some political opponents are already accusing him of taking over a local radio station meant for the Nadowli/Kaleo district assembly in his constituency.
Speaking at an event organized in his honor on his 60th birthday and twenty five years in active politics, the Nadowli/Kaleo lawmaker mentioned the ministry of health ambulance issue as a typical example one of the ways some faceless persons are trying to throw mud at him.
“What most people don’t know about the ambulance saga so far as I am concerned is that, even though there was the need to import those ambulances which was started during my tenure as health minister, I was not in the ministry as the health minister when the final agreement for the purchase of the ambulance was reached”, he revealed.
According to him, he had handed over to his successor, Madam Sherry Ayittey, who took over from him as the substantive health minister.
He therefore dared anybody who has anything concerning the purchase of the ambulance adverse in nature to step forward and for a challenge of the truth or otherwise of the ambulance saga.
