…As deputy youth organizer moves to oust boss
Mrs. Hajia Marriam Aminu-Ibrahim, the deputy youth organiser of the Ayawaso East Constituency of National Democratic Congress (NDC), has boldly expressed her intent to take over the substantive youth organiser position from her boss, Yussif Kamal-Deen aka Yussif Basa-Basa.
Though other interested persons in the constituency were spotted trying to truncate her daring move with the excuse that her marital and childbearing chores would render her inefficient, but she pooh-poohs the excuse.
As the first lady in the history of the area, she explained that she was a branch youth leader before she got married, and she is currently the deputy youth organiser in the constituency and that has not affected her performance
“It is, therefore, no point for anybody to say I would underperform when elected the substantive youth organizer,” she added.
She posited that “in any case, her husband, an NDC sympathizer, is actively involved in politics and knowing that she is constituency executive member, he is prepared to assist her to attain a higher height in politics as far as women in politics are concerned.”
“What men can do, women can do better, especially in this current socio-political dispensation,” Mrs. Aminu-Ibrahim added.
The hardworking young woman promised to bring a diverse but acceptable transformational leadership that would trickle down to the youth leadership at ward and branch levels in the constituency to maximize the voting pattern in the area more than ever before.
