Naser Mahama Toure, aka Mc Naza, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ayawaso East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, has been awarded for his hard work and exemplary leadership in the constituency.
The award, given over the weekend, was to give recognition for his sterling leadership, dedication to service and massive infrastructural development that has taken place in the constituency since he became MP in 2012.
At the short ceremony, organized by a political youth group, called ‘Vibrant Ladies,’ within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the group outdoored a number of political activities towards the party’s agenda 2020 to recapture power from the struggling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
In his welcome address, the group leader, Mr. Faisal Ramond Swala, explained that the group was formed purposely to champion the cause of their MP and the NDC party in the Ayawaso East Constituency and beyond.
Mr. Faisal Swala informed the teeming crowd and the party supporters at the function that his members are gearing up towards winning the hearts of some members of the ruling NPP who are already disappointed with the performance of their government so far.
On his part, the Greater Accra Regional NDC treasurer, Alhaji Yahaya Yaw Kundo, who graced the occasion, urged the group and party faithful who thronged the Nima Hot Coffee to remain united and continue to support the party in its ongoing reorganization to recapture power in the next elections.
He described Hon. Mc Naser as one of the best MPs the party’s regional secretariat is proud of, adding that “if we have had candidates like Mc Naser in the last elections, the party would have retained all its seats and added a lot more.”
The Ayawaso East Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Olabode Williams, saluted the MP for his sterling performance, and reaffirmed the constituency executives’ commitment to support the MP to continue to deliver his good work in the area.
In addition, he said, “What Mc Naser has done for this constituency over the years, we , as constituency executives, want to place on record that we are going to support him in any election to ensure that he continues with his good work.”
After receiving the award, Hon. Mc Naser expressed gratitude to the organizers of the event for their honour done him; and promised to work harder for the betterment of the constituency.
He announced that, henceforth, his outfit would begin a massive reinstallation of malfunctioning street lights, asking constituents to inform him about areas where street lights would be needed, or new ones needed to replace the malfunctioning street lights to improve the security of the area.
He promised to also continue with the ‘cementing’ of all backyards of the houses in the constituency to improve sanitation and make easy flow of rain water into the nearby gutters.
The ceremony was colourfully graced by the Greater Accra Regional executives, led by Alhaji Yaw Kundo; Zongo Caucus; Ayawaso North Constituency executives led by Alhaji Tina, among many others from other constituencies.
