Alfred Woyome Vrs Attorney-General For Public Hearing Tomorrow At The African Court In Tanzania

After huffing and puffing and telling the media the African Court of Human and People’s right based in Arusha, Tanzania did not have jurisdiction over the rulings of Ghana’s Supreme Court and hence businessman Alfred Woyome sending his case against the state to the court was much ado about nothing, Deputy Attorney General &, Godfred Yeboah Dame, has eaten humble pie and proceeded to Tanzania to deliver the government’s position in the case at a public hearing expected to take place tomorrow.
The public hearing, with Alfred Agbesi Woyome as the Applicant and the government of Ghana as the Respondent will take place at 10:00 a.m Tanzania time. In a letter dated April 12, 2018 to the African court signed by Mrs. Helen A.A. Ziwu, the Solicitor-General at the Attorney-General’s Department on behalf of the Attorney-General, Ghana’s team at the public hearing was named as Godfred Yeboah-Dame, Deputy Attorney General, Mrs. Dorothy Afriyie-Ansah and Mrs. Stella Badu, both Chief State Attorneys and Miss Nabeela Wahab, a Senior State Attorney.
Alfred Woyome’s team includes Lawyers Osafo Buabeng and Ken S. Anuku. Both sides are expected to make oral submissions on preliminary objections, jurisdiction merits of the Application and reparations during the public hearings.
