A-PLUS STABS AKUFO-ADDO IN THE BACK

…Secretly Records NPP Mole In Police…As Gov’t Attempts To Cover Up Corruption

The warning by musician, Kwame Asare Obeng, alias A-Plus, to members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) that if they do not get off his back he will undo the regime is proving to be something that is not just hot air.

As it emerges that the Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID’s) exoneration of the two Deputy Chiefs-of-Staff, Samuel Abu Jinapor and Francis Asenso Boakye, was nothing but a whitewash, the shocking fact that A-Plus had secretly recorded the police officer has left eeriness in the air.

The secret recording from the explosive conversation between A-Plus and the senior police officer, in which the police officer affirms that the two Deputy Chiefs-of-Staff had really acted corruptly, as A Plus had alleged, appears to have been deliberately recorded by A-Plus.

Given that the recording has now found its way into the media only styles A-Plus as a Brutus for the Akufo-Addo government, which has been generous enough to give him oil carting contracts that have fetched the young man a cool Ghc3million already.

A-Plus, who appeared to have recorded the audio, is also suspected of spilling it to the media styling him as a Frankenstein Monster for the NPP government, which had unleashed him while in opposition to attack the NDC government at every turn.

Accra-based Kasapa FM, which broke the story about A-Plus’ devious intelligence gathering, reports that a senior police officer who had had a conversation with the musician about ongoing investigations into allegations of corruption against the two Deputy Chiefs of Staff was really right about the allegation.

“As for the corruption aspect of it, from what you said and what we’ve gone to confirm, you wouldn’t be too far from right to say that this is what happened, but we need to manage… the people are your people. We need to find the best way to ensure that Korle Bu works the way we all want it to work.”

The revelation from the insider police officer makes nonsense of claims by COP Bright Oduro, Director General of CID of the Ghana Police Service, that A-Plus’ allegations against Abu Jinapor and Francis Asenso Boakye, to the effect that they had looted from the Korle Bu deal, were baseless.

According to a statement that COP Bright Oduro had released on the issue, the two Deputy Chiefs-of-Staff’s intervention in a Korle Bu Teaching Hospital deal, which A-Plus said was embroiled in thievery, “was transparent, borne out of the protection of public interest and consistent with their duties as Chiefs of Staff.”

But according to the senior Police Officer that A-Plus allegedly had secretly recorded, as for the corruption aspect of it, from what you said and what we’ve gone to confirm, you wouldn’t be too far from right to say that this is what happened, but we need to manage… the people are your people. We need to find the best way to ensure that Korle Bu works the way we all want it to work.”

The conflict in the positions of COP Bright Oduro, who had released a statement in the media, and another staff, who had frankly poured out her heart in a private conversation, paints the picture that the Director of CID had lied to help the Akufo-Addo government cover up the thievery.

It is very indicative that the Police had not investigated the issue with intent to bring the corrupt to book but had only lent themselves to the regime as stooges available to use to clean up the government’s dirty corruption mess.

The revelation has since come as a slap in the face of Ghanaians as it indicates clearly that the Police is in cahoots with government to inflict corruption on the country.

In the secretly recorded conversation between A-Plus and the female police officer, the Police woman who sounded very emotional advised A-Plus to keep things under wraps for the sake of the NPP.

“But we need to manage… the people are your people.…You need somebody who’ll be neutral to tell them exactly what is there for them to understand and I wish I could have an audience with the President himself. Because it looks like most of the things doesn’t get to him…yes I feel sad for him.”

The senior police officer added, “I feel he has good intentions but he’s not going to achieve it.”

Since the revelations, the Akufo-Addo government, which is already saddled with other corruption scandals such as the infamous KENBOND, 5million litre dirty oil and the hiring of the President’s cousin, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, by the Finance Ministry at whopping costs to the state, has looked even more corrupt in the eyes of Ghanaians.

But in the snooping service to the state which has led to revelations that the police are helping the government cover up the fact that Abu Jinapor and Francis Asenso Boakye are indeed, “Thieves-of-Staff,” A-Plus is the hero.

He apparently went to a great deal of trouble to carefully set up and record the conversation with the police woman just so Ghanaians can know that in the matter of his allegations against the two Deputy Chiefs-of-Staff, he is right.
