PROMA Director Back with Sweet Highlife Jams

Randy Nunoo, Ghanaian Highlife Musician and Executive Director of PROMA, who hit the air waives in the early 2006 and 2008 with thrilling Highlife jams, is back with more promising and soul searching songs.

Positive Right Owners Association (PROMA) is formed to nature young talented youth in the Music Industry.
PROMA is also aimed at promoting professional musicians and their welfare.

This, the Legendary Randy who paused for few years, told THE REPUBLIC in an interview, he is back with a catching name, “Randy 1” remix and several of highlife lyrics that would hook many music lovers on their feet.

Randy splintered into the Ghanaian music scene some three decades ago with more than twelve albums. The legendary highlife musician has resurfaced on the music scene with smashing songs,most of them titled ‘ GOOGLE ME,’ ‘Dangerous, TWO TWO, Baby, I Need You, ‘Dongomi’

Known for his unique delivery, Randy 1, is surfacing with other songs titled, ”Sankofa, MEFATAWO, We Dey We dey” some quintessential highlife songs that has elements pinpointing the relevance in Highlife music and the essence of preserving the Ghanaian tradition and culture.

Recorded at Dusige Multimedia Studio(Glory Land) and mastered at Southberg Studios Santon City(South Africa)’ ‘We dey We dey’ , sankofa, Wobeka-Na-Meye’ are actually an educative and danceable songs that would be ‘Highlife Songs of the Years ahead to contender at the Ghana music awards

Randy hit the Ghanaian music stage in 1987, where he released his first album, ‘Menidaso Wosoro’, which became an instant hit.

In 1989, he traveled to Europe to develop his musical career, returning in 1991 to record his second album, ‘Philomena’, which was released in 1992 by Kox Record Label. In 1993, he produced another album titled ‘Experience’, and ‘Honesty’ in 1996 under his own record label, Pillar Records. He is now also surfacing with ‘Philomena Remix’ under the ‘Randy 1’ tag.

With determination to bring high level class of Music, Randy 1, in 1997, again left the shores of Ghana for Germany to record ‘Dapen Koro’, which was released by Media Cassette, a label based in Germany.

Some time in the year 2000, Randy 1, released ‘Biakoye’ and in 2004, he came out with ‘Papa Black Man’.
He did not rest, as between 2006 and 2008, Randy 1, released three albums, ‘Khaki Supporter’, ‘Ato Papa’ and ‘Numo Small Boy’.

Currently, the Legendary Highlife singer has in stock of songs including, ‘ Mmra Wo Town, Mefre-Woa Bra, Super-Saga, Dream-Love,Uncle -Ebo,Bamba-Do, Super-Love, In-The-Zulu-Land, I Need You, Google Me,Dongomi and Paapa Yankson Tribue. Under the Randy Nonoo brand, the Highlife Singer has songs titled,Ghana Mapuka, Happy Birthday, Love is Blind, Me Broni, Mehye Me Goal, Mercy Mercy Honesty, Obaa Kookoo, Obaako Fo, Papa Blackman and Philomena,which is now remixed.
Most of Randy 1 songs could be found on ITunes, Quobuz, Amazon, YouTube, Mizikii, Deezer, Afrobeat and many more music Apps .

In all the songs, however, the one thing that stands out, and makes them sweet is Randy’s brilliant and soulful voice. There is also good harmony from the background singers. He has his own style, though, cleverly weaving through the melodies of each song with delightful accord.

A Christian by faith, Randy dedicated his talent to God, with the believes that as musicians, “our job is to make people feel happy” to glorify God.

Randy Nunoo or Randy 1, is currently in town to promote ‘Google Me, Dongomi’, and others of his songs and is looking forward to arranging a number of gigs.
