A newly registered political party, Power Unity Party, (PUP) has launched a media campaign and called on Ghanaians to support its vision to rescue the nation from mismanagement.
PUP which received its certificates from the Electoral Commission, (EC), on November 21, 2019, as a recognized political organization in accordance with article 55 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana promised to harness the nation abundant resources to the benefit of the citizens.
Among it, topmost priorities are security, agriculture, economy, education and youth unemployment when given the opportunity.
Founder and Leader of PUP, Pastor Eliyahu Boateng who addressed the Media in Accra last Wednesday said, agriculture revolution would be his priority to hook the youth and to make the rural folks also taste decent living.
Under the agriculture sector, he would ensure farmers enjoy government support and also have more modernised houses, with a regular power supply that would keep them at their villages and town rather than coming to the cities
In addition to that, the PUP leader said, as a democratic party, PUP’s would also provide absolute security and protection to every Ghanaian regardless of faith, tribe and political affiliation, stressing that, “maximum security will be the bedrock of PUP government.
He pointed out that, since 1894, when the Ghana Police Service was established, the institution has managed to provide security by fulfilling their responsibilities as enshrined in the Ghanaian constitution.
Prophet Boateng stated that his Government will empower the Police service to fulfil their responsibilities, efficiently and effectively without any interferences.
He wanted to do by providing the necessary logistics and periodic training both locally and international, “example the provision of helicopters for surveillance, bullet-proof vehicles for patrols, bullet-proof jackets, sophisticated weapons and any other Hi-tech devices that will aid in combating crimes of any sort”.
He said, when PUP comes to government, it would ensure the stability of the educational system when voted into power as he lamented that, “over the years, Ghana’s Education system and curriculum has to be unstable and insecure.
This is because politicians have varied the system of education for their selfish interest. Our earlier system of education starts from nursery, kindergarten, primary, middle school, sixth form to University but the system have changed and this has affected the quality of instruction, performance and lack of facilities and teachers welfare”.
The Party has supported the ongoing free SHS policy, but it has added that “when PUP comes to power 2020, it will further enhance the policy by way of providing more
schools, quality education, accessibility, textbooks and other learning materials.
These, among other policies, the PUP Leader asked Ghanaians to give the party the opportunity during the 2020 presidential and parliament elections.
He said the two dominant parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have failed.
In his considered opinion, the two parties and their leadership have abused the resources of the nation and collaborate with foreign leaders to raped the nation of its God given resources.
