— set to Commission Teachers Bungalow
The Member of parliament for Sege constituency Hon. Christian Corletey Otuteye has taken pragmatic steps to provide quality basic education within the constituency.
According to him, education remained the backbone of development of every nation, hence to move to ensure teachers in the constituency have conducive environment to live and teach children.
Mr.Otuteye revealed this when he addressed farmers at the 35th National Farmers Days held on Friday December 6, 2019 in the Sege District.
He revealed that a teachers bungalow for the Amuyao Korpe Basic School, is near completion and would be handed over to the school to help accommodate teachers early next year.
The aim, the MP said is to ensure teachers are comfortable to provide quality teaching to the pupil whom he described as future leaders.
In addition to that it would enable teachers of the community to be punctual irrespective of the weather condition.
Hon. Otuteye said he had sleepless nights over the teachers bungalow and the road network that links towns and villages in the district.
“One of the biggest requests you put before me was about teachers bungalow which we are almost done. We need to connect the light and maybe early next year we hand it over to the school.
Some of the roads are very bad and I know that most of you harvest and cannot convene the produce to places where you need to send them as most of them go bad and so post-harvest lost is becoming too much particularly watermelon and tomato which cannot be preserved so we need some sort of interventions to rescue farmers.”
“I’m pleading with you to leave in harmony as one people but if you discriminate yourselves over minority and majority, we won’t have the needed peace.” He appealed.
