Hon Clement Kofi Humando, a member of Ghana’s Legislative delegation to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament, has appealed to the Federal Republic of Nigeria to open its Benin Border at Seme for the passage of genuine goods that are stuck in the open .
According to the Anlo lawmaker Ghanaian trucks are stranded at the Border post with forty-six products which has been approved by Ghana and the ECOWAS Commission of Trades and accepted by the Nigeria.
Mr.Humando made the appeal when the ECOWAS Parliament resumed sitting on Wednesday November 27, 2019.
The Ghanaian lawmaker argues that, goods from Ghana are not in contention or have defile the ETLS, nothing that, “when you take an action that leads to closure of the door of all goods including genuine customized goods, this should be given a second look”.
“It is not only Ghana that is affected, in the report that was even presented; Nigeria is losing trade with its neighbors, ” he maintained.
