The National Democratic Congress, NDC Manifesto Committee Chairman, Professor Kwaku Danso has stated that the party would not engage in promises of deceit to ‘steal’ votes in 2020.
According to him, the manifesto document would be based on the needs of the people, and the whole truth according to the experience of the committee members and the NDC, as a party.
In an interview with The Republic, Prof. Danso said Ghanaians should not expect sophistry during the 2020 campaign and that the manifesto would be based on the available resources.
He also hinted that Ghana is in high debt and the NDC would not want the debt to GDP ratio to go high to affect the ordinary Ghanaian.
“We will act, and do things accordingly to make sure we do not burden Ghanaians with unnecessary additional taxes they have to pay, ….the document would be a very realistic and viable manifesto, that could be cross-checked by anyone at all”, he promised.
The Manifesto Committee Chairman further indicated that the NDC with its huge governance experience would not go to tell the people stories and lies, whatever is going to be put in the manifesto the NDC would have the resources to execute them.
Prof. Kwaku Danso posited that the NDC is starting the writing of the manifesto early due to the bottom-up approach to get inputs from individuals, constituencies, academia, institutions, grassroots people, professionals and all those who matter to produce a viable manifesto document.
The Committee Chairman further explained that the NDC manifesto would rescue Ghana and address the problems the people are going through under this substandard and failed Nana Akufo-Addo led NPP government.
The Manifesto Committee Members were officially inaugurated by former President John Dramani Mahama. The Committee members are;

Lawyers Kakra Essumuah and Sammy Gyamfi would be the Communication links between the party, the committee and the public.
The consultants for the manifesto committee are Prof Kwamena Ahwoi,
Hon. Sherry Ayitey, Madam Amoaku Nuamah and Mr Abeka Quansah.
