A female Entrepreneur and parliamentary candidate aspirant of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) of Asante Mampong in Ashanti Region, Miss Bintah Fatimah Mohammed, has charged delegates of the party upcoming primaries to give her the chance to claim the parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party(NPP).
According to her, she has the appeals from the masses at the grassroots level to rescue them from the underdeveloped constituency as they have been neglected by the NPP for years
Miss Bintah made the call after she successfully filed and later cleared by the regional vetting committee to contest the primaries scheduled for October 19, 2019.
This the first time the young female Entrepreneur is contesting for the primaries and had vowed to claim the seat if given the node by delegates of her party.
Miss Bintah who anchored her mission on youth and women empowerment, education, agriculture and social intervention policies and quality health believed the people of Asante Mampong have been deceived for years of dominant by the NPP.
She said, if given the chance by NDC and she subsequently wins the seat, she would initiate policies that would restore some hope to the people of Mampong.
She told THE REPUBLIC via phone after vetting that, she is the right aspirant among the three aspirants to lead the party in the constituency.
” I think I am the best among the aspirants, because, I have the appeal to the masses, both within the NDC and the entire constituency.”
“This is the first time a young female like me is contesting and everywhere I go, the people are saying we need you, you are the right person for this constituency, ” Bintah said.
“Many people in Mampong including some persons from our opponent, the NPP are saying, if it is Bintah we will all vote, we will vote for her, ” she added.
While promoting a clean and issues base campaign, the female Entrepreneur said, the Mampong seat will this fall for the NDC and vowed to redeem the party fortunes with a resounding victory should the delegates endorse her at the October 19, primaries.
She promised to tackle issues of education, health, skills development for the youth and empowerment of women in the constituency.
Sounding very optimistic of her victory, Miss Bintah said the NPP government together with the MP have neglected the development needs of the people as many of the roads and streets remained dusty and inaccessible under a government that promised development but delivered none.
She also entreated her supporters to campaign for her on issues devoid of personal attacks and character assassination as those would not translate into votes.
She further charged delegates to defy negative propaganda, financial inducement and tribal bigotry and give her the mandate to represent the constituency in parliament to articulate their needs and concerns.
Bintah is being with my two men, Messer Frank Amoakohehe, a Medical officer and Mohammed Kojo Aboasu.
The Mampong seat Is one of the strongholds of the NPP in Ashanti region and they held the seat since 1996.
Hon Kwaku Ampratwum Sarpong of the NPP is the current Member of Parliament for Mampong, which the NDC seeks to unseat with any of its three aspirants who emerged the victor in their primaries
