The Madina Constituency chapter of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) on Friday, September 6, joined the Muslims Jummah prayers at the Madina Central Mosque to thank Allah for a successful parliamentary primary.
The party was also in the Mosque to seek the face of Allah towards a trouble-free campaign to reclaim the parliamentary seat.
Chief Imam of the Madina Central Mosque, Alhaji Mallam Ynus prayed for the parliamentary candidate and flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.
He also prayed for peace and continued unity within the party and charged the candidate to conduct a clean and issues-based campaign that are of interest to the constituents.
He assured of the Muslims contribution to peace in the constituency before, during and after the 2020 general election.
The Chief Imam also prayed for the continued peace in the country ahead of the general election in the country.
Hon Francis Xavier Sosu, the elected parliamentary candidate and Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Abdul Rahman led the NDC to the Jumma prayers.
Other members were Alhaji Siddi Abubakar Musah and Alhaji Ibrahim Faila Fusseini, who contested at the primaries but lost to Mr Sosu as well as other constituency executives of the NDC.
Lawyer Sosu on behalf the constituency thanked the Chief Imam and the entire Muslims of the Central Mosque for their unceasing prayers for the party in Madina.
He reiterated his vision to transform Madina with quality leadership when elected to parliament and called for the Muslims fervent prayers for him and the entire NDC party.
Mr Sosu, however, called for unity, peace, hard work and prayers to lead the party to reclaimed the seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), which he noted is the ultimate aim to achieve in 2020 general elections.
The Constituency Chairman who doubled as the Assemblyman for Madina West Electoral thanked the leadership of the Mosque for the warm reception and the prayers offered to the party.
He assured to lead the party as Chairman to a victory and urged members, especially the Muslims to rally behind NDC and its parliamentary candidate to redeem the people of Madina from economic hardship and underdeveloped.
The party is scheduled to join Christians in other Churches on Sunday to thank God and to pray churches in 2020 elections.
