Former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur on Sunday paid a courtesy call on the National Chief, Sheikh Dr Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, at his palace in Accra.
Nana Oye Lithur who is contesting for the parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress( NDC) was accompanied by Imams, Chiefs, Delegates and people of Adenta to the Fadam Palace of the National Chief Imam.
The former Gender Minister presented assorted food items for the National Chief Imam for the Eid-al Adha, which is observed annually by Muslims in remembrance of Prophet Ibrahim sacrifices of his son Ishmaila to Allah.
The Eid is celebrated after the Pilgrims to Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
Nana Oye used the opportunity to thank the National Chief Imam for his fervent prayers for the nation and asked him to use the Eid period to seek Allah face for mercy on the country.
She also asked for special prayers for herself as she embarked on political parliamentary primaries for the Adenta constituency of the NDC.
“This celebration marks a period of prayer, sacrifice and praises to Allah. I pray that Allah continues to grant us His mercies and guide our steps in all our endeavours.”

The National Chief thanked the former Gender Minister for her benevolent and offered prayers for her successful bid in the NDC primaries.
