One of the Parliamentary Candidate aspirant contesting the Ayawaso East of National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries, Dr Yakubu Azindo has stressed that he is the right person to represent the people of the area in parliament in 2021.
Dr Azindo who was described by many as the right face of Ayawaso East claimed he is optimism to win the upcoming NDC parliamentary primaries.
The young academia has over the period touched base with delegates, party members, foot soldiers and has been able to respond to their various needs anytime he was contacted.
The US-based Political Science Lecturer filed his nomination forms on Friday to prepare him to contest upcoming primaries slated on August 24, 2019.
In an interview with The Republic, Dr Azidow mentioned some areas he will be touching when he gets the nod to lead the NDC in the constituency includes human resource development, skills training and small and medium-term interest-free loans for traders.
The Aspirant further told this portal he would initiate projects that will generate income for the party and make the party more attractive to the new voter in the Ayawaso East Constituency.
The Political Science Lecturer also alleged that lack of contribution by the current MP on the floor of the house rendered members of the constituency and intellectuals hopeless without proper representation of the people.
His coming into the race was to make a strong case that the constituency has qualified people to lead and represent them in Parliament.
The Ayawaso East NDC primaries are a-2-horse race between the incumbent MP, Mc Naza Mahama Toure and Dr Yakubu Azindo on Saturdays, August 24, 2019, after Mr Kwadjo Octhere Darko (KOD) stepped down to offer his support to current MP.
The two contestants have created a tensed atmosphere among the constituency executives and the delegates that could be a potential threat to the unity of the party in the area.
