Adams passed away early dawn on Monday, August 5 and was buried in Accra on the same day, in line with Islamic rite.
The dua prayers in Islam are to ask for mercy and forgiveness as well as Thanksgiving and in the case for the dead is for Allah to accept the supplication of the living on behalf of the dead for his or her soul to rest.
The word dua in Arabic means “calling”, the act of remembering Allah and calling upon Him. Aside from the daily prayers, Muslims are encouraged to call upon Allah for forgiveness, guidance, and strength throughout the day.
The du’a prayer is cited from Quran 2:186 which read, “When My servants ask about Me, I am indeed close to them. I listen to the prayer of every supplicant when he calls on Me. Let them also, with a will, listen to My call, and believe in Me, so that they may walk in the right way.”
