Injunction Against Prof Afful-Broni, Avoke Reinstated

An Accountant of the University of Education Winneba (UEW) has filed a motion at the Winneba High Court seeking an injunction against the embattled Vice-Chancellor of the University, Rev. Fr Professor Anthony Afful-Broni.

Kingsley Amoakwah, who filed the suit as a citizen and employee of the University with 12 years working for staff, has asked the High Court to among of other things restrain Prof Afful-Broni from holding himself out as Vice-Chancellor or performing any such function in that capacity of the University.

The suit which is filed by Law Alert Firm and dated Tuesday, July 23, 2019, is also praying the court for an order restraining Prof Afful-Broni from continue interfering in the administration of Prof Avoke as the legitimate Vice-Chancellor of the University.
Mr Amoakwah motion on notice for the enforcement of the University if Education Act 2004(Act672) is also asking the court for a declaration that the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) report which finds exonerate Prof Mawutor Avoke override and supersedes all proceedings and findings of the suppose fact-finding committee set up by the Governing Council of the University.

In addition to several reliefs, Mr Amoqkwah is also praying the High Court for an order directed at Rev. Fr Afful- Broni, restraining him, his agents, assigns or any other person claiming through him from walking or driving through within the precincts of the main administration block of the University, where Prof Avoke office is located.
The plaintiff who cited several violations of the UEW Act also wants an order directing the police commander of the Winneba District Police Commander to provide adequate security protection to enable Prof Avoke. Perform his duties as Vice-Chancellor without any fear of attack from hoodlums and thugs who may threaten his life.
