Speaker Charges Ghanaian Youth to tap opportunities Available in all Sectors

Ghana’s Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon. Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, has advised the youth to make meaningful use of the numerous opportunities in all sectors of the economy in order to live a meaningful live.

The Speaker gave the advise when students from the Valley View University(VVU) paid a courtesy call on him in parliament Thursday morning May 9, 2019.

The students were members of campus christians fellowship group, known as,” Announce” with a motto; “Wining our Generation for Christ.”

They engaged in evangelization in communities during holidays from school, preaching to residents,visiting prisons and other rehabilitation centers with the word of God for salvation to their audience.

This, Prof.Mike Oquaye,commended them for adding the religious work to their normal course of study on campus, stressing that, it was good young people like them conceived the idea to add the word of God in their daily activities as they grow.

” Do not abuse your opportunities. The right application of every opportunity will bring you goodness, and you have the chance to play a good role in your country,” the Speaker advised.

According to him, not all young persons grow up to become good citizens but if they have opportunity to hear the word of God and understand it, the chances of having the young to stand in as the future leadership is high.

The Speaker further urged the Evangelization students not to waste their potentials in the global trend of economy, especially in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), but warned that they must also be mindful of the fact that the same ICT era would get them misled.

He expressed his gladness in receiving them in his office and assured that his office doors are opened for ideas and opportunities that would promote the country religious and economic growth.

Pastor Okai present books to Speaker

Pastor Sydney Nii Okai Larmie, Assistant Chaplain of VVU, who led the students to parliament thanked the Speaker for the opportunity to have audience with him.

He said, every semester, the Evangelization students identify a District and visit to clean the environment and later share the word of God with them, adding that beside the academic work the believed doing God work would help reenforce the purpose for the establishment of the institution.
The Students presented a Bible, some religious books and news magazine for the Speaker and for members of the august House.
