An aspiring parliamentary candidate for th Amasaman constituencynon the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) , Marriam Dzifa Ibrahim, has chastised Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, for his deceptive policy, especially the claims of fulfilled promised on a $1 million per constituency promise.
According to her, “the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana has no shame when he is lying before Ghanaians of what his government has not done or is yet to do, and he never ceases to amaze me”.
Madam Dzifa who is seeking the mandate of the NDC to lead the party in the parliamentary elections in Amasaman made these during an interview with THE REPUBLIC in Accra, last Tuesday.
She said, the NPP government led by president Akufo Addo promised in 2016 campaign that, the NPP government would give each of the 275 constituency an amount of US$1 million every year, but that has never been fulfilled since taking over governance.
She added that, if the government had indeed delivered its promises as Dr Bawumia claimed at his town hall meeting with the government Economic Management Team, it meant that each of the 275 constituencies have received US$3 million, but that is not the case.
She stated so far she was aware, the Amasaman constituency has not received such amount of money nor there exist a project, executed by the current government with such value.
Madam Dzifa who is also the former Organizer of a political group, known as “Zongo Women For Mahama” pointed out that despite all these facts, the Vice President, Dr Bawumia still peddled untruth that the government have delivered $ 3m to each of the 275 constituencies in the country for development.
She said, the deplorable conditions of roads in the areas like Amlahiya and other places in the Amasaman Constituency are evidence enough to show that such US$3 million had not been fulfilled.
The NDC parliamentary aspirant added that the NPP administration claimed that they have delivered on the 1D 1F; 1 village 1dam, are deception, stressing that, “even the NHIS is in shambles and the need for the NPP to know by now that governance is a serious business”
She therefore charged the constituents, especially NDC members to endorse her at the party upcoming primaries to bring development to the area.
