Klottey Korle Confirmed New MCE after Protest

The newly created Klottey Korle Municipal Assembly has unanimously confirmed the President nominee for Municipal Chief Executive, after several protest against non-indigine to the municipal seat.

Samuel Nii Adjei Tawiah obtained 100 percent votes endorsing his nomination by the 13 Assembly members to become the first Municipal Chief Executive.

President Akufo Addo on Friday March 21, 2019, nominated Mr AdjiTawiah for th MCE, but some residents protested against his nomination, claiming he do not come from the municipality.

In his speech, the newly confirmed MCE promised the people of Klottey Korle to offer selfless leadership to bring development closure to the people.

He also assured of his commitment to work with everyone irrespective of their political colours for the sake of the municipality.

He also promised the Assembly members of working together to make the Korle Klottey an envious and best Municipality in the country.

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Ishmael Aryitey,commended the Assembly members for confirming the President’s nominee, without feet dragging and misunderstanding.

He atested to the fact that the new MCE is a strong man who works hard and him to go beyond constructing toilets facilities but rather bring developmental infrastructure.

The Minister disclosed that there are investors who would like to invest in some of these newly created Municipalities, so he charged the MCE to identify and liase with them to invest in the Municipality.

The Mr Francis Ebow Mensah’s was earlier also confirmed as the first Presiding Member for the Municipal Assembly, to enable him to preside over the meeting to confirm the new MCE.

Mr Ebow Mensah promised to work hand-in-hand with the MCE to ensure that the municipal is catapult from its current poor development state to an acceptable pedestal.
