Former La MCE Celebrates Int’l Women’s Day With La Women

The former Municipal Chief Executive for  La Dade-Kotopon, Madam Rita Odoley Sowah has celebrated the International Women’s Day with the women in the area.

She use the occassion to encouraged women to participate actively in politics at all level and  to demand the adoption and implementation of policies and programmes that will unburden and transform the lives of women.

She also called on women not to underrate themselves but take up challenging roles to bring out their best qualities. Madam Odoley Sowah made the call at La when she met the women’s wing of the La Dadekotopon Constituency of the NDC to celebrate the International Women’s Day.

In her congratulatory message to the Ghanaian women, the former MCE who spoke on theme; ‘Balance For Better’, said “I wish all Ghanaian women a happy International Women’s Day. May God lift women to the greater heights to support our soceity for better”, she prayed.

The recipient for ‘Women In Leaderdhip Award’ in London, Madam Odoley Sowah speeking on the theme; ‘Balance For Better’ charged the women to be submissive to their husbands and the men they work with or lead to learn more from them.

Former LaDMA MCE, Mad. Odoley Sowah, aspiring NDC PC further pointed out that with the submissive attitude, the men themselves would offer support to achievd the ‘fight’ the theme; ‘Balance For Better’.

She also urged the women to improve upon their various supports to their families and in the course of social, economic, cultural and political development of the country to always look relevant.

Madam Odoley Sowah trained young women selected from across the La Dade-Kotopon Constituency in different types of soap making and in other areas skills, and she gave them startup capitals.

Madam Rita Odoley Sowah promised to offer more support to the women’s wing if they also gave her the nod to become the NDC PC in La Dade-Kotopon Constituency going into parliamentary primaries soon.

In an interview with Therepublicnewsonline.com some of the women’s wing also stated they want a woman MP this time for La Dade-Kotopon Constituency. Adding that Madam Odoley has track record when she was the MCE.
