AYAWASO North NDC Women Inagurates Committee to regain power 2020

 

The Ayawaso North Constituency women’s wing of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has vowed to work tirelessly to help the party recapture political power in the 2020 general elections.

According to the NDC women, with unity and hardwork among members of NDC in the constituency, the party would gain a resounding victory in the next general elections.

HAJIA Adiza Boyah Iddrissu, constituency Women’s Organizer made the vow at a ceremony to inaugurate the Women Working Committee in the constituency in Accra last Friday.

The Ayawaso parliamentary seat has been held by the NDC since 1993, by different personalities in the party.

Hon Yusif Jaja, is the current Member of Parliament for the area after he defeated Dr Mustapha Ahmed at the party parliamentary primaries in 2015.

He subsequently retained the seat in the 2016 general elections, but the party and its Presidential candidate John Mahama lost the ultimate seat to Presidency.

This, Hon Hajia Boyah vowed to work with all stakeholders, especially market women and professional traders in the constituions to rally behind the NDC to recapture power.

She said, the NDC women were more than ready to reorganise the grassroots base of the party to maximise votes to retain the parliamentary seat and recapture the Presidncy.

The constiruency women organizer said, the mistakes that led the party to lose most votes in the 2016 elections, would not be repeated, adding that, the working committee is expected to work hand in hand with branch executives to mobilize and help in enhancing the capacity of the women front within the constituency.

For her, the ruling New Parriotic Party (NPP), has no chance to in 2020, because, they failed Ghanaians by inflicting economic hardship on them and only rule with deceits.

Hajia Boyah promised to allow every NDC woman inthe constituency to contribute their God-given talent to reorganize the party, stressing that those who lost in the constituncy election as well as former party officials would be brought on board to help.

“My able team and I are in for nothing but to increase the parliamentary and the Presidential votes to make Ayawaso North the real stronghold of NDC,” she pledged.

She further implored all NDC members in the constituency to support the processes to unite the party for victory in the 2020 polls.

Madam Felicia Mekpoi Bortey, Regional Women’s Organizer who inaugurated the committee, advised them to give out their best and expect nothing but victory for the party in 2020.

She said, the NDC Regional Women front would work till the party is declared victorious in 2020, stressing that, the NPP are prepared to rig the general elections and urged all NDC members, including the women to be vigilant on elwction day.

Mama Felicia as she is affectionately called, said the acceptance of the selected members to be on the committee shows that the women front of the party is poised to deliver victory come the next elections in 20202.

She however called for close collaboration among members of the committee and the branches as well as the constituency executives .

She expressed optimistic that with den of hard work and determination, the party would again retain the parliamentary seat and maximise the presidential votes in the general election.

Present at the women working committee inaugural ceremony were, Hon Hajia Hanatu Cash,  Deputy Women’s Organizer, USA Ledzorkuku constituency women Organizer, Hajia Sherifatu Sulley, Madam Nancy,Nyantachi,  Ayawaso Central Women’s and Hajia Hawawu Sulle,  former Constituency Women’s Organizer, among other women executive members.

Beside the Working Committee, Welfare Committee and Ward Executives were also inaugurated.
