The Greater Accra Regional (GAR) National Democratic Congress, NDC has charged the Ablekuma Central constituency branch of the party to continue to be united for them to be able win the seat come 2020 general elections.
The two Vice chairmen of the region, William Vinyo and Ibrahim Jajah who made the call took part in the unity walk the Constituency Executives organised in the area last Saturday which was massively attended by party members, constituency, region as well as national Executives and sympathisers.
Meanwhile, the party in the Ablekuma Central is struggling to be on its feet due to some misunderstanding since the party lost the parliamentary seat to governing NPP in the 2016 elections.
And which they are till yet to come to terms for the anticipating victory come 2020 general elections who also are equally struggling to match the kind of development they came to meet.
Speaking further to the charged crowd, the GAR Chairmen noted that, 2020 victory is very important for the party and that, the onus lies on them hence, the need to forgive each other, unite and form a strategic and formidable campaign together to win the seat as well maximize the votes of the NDC come 2020.
The unity Walk saw many cheering for the return of the party to power as well gained massive endorsements from the people who came out to hail them.
The walk started at Sakura Loso Park through some principal streets including Abossey okai and sabon Zongo and ended at ‘Tangasi’ line amidst cheers and show of love from the residents.
Some of the former Executives joined the current Executive members for the successful walk in the area all the name of how to strategize to win power come 2020 general elections.
Mr. Kplorm Kofi Dudornu, speaking to the media after the walk at ‘Tangasi’ park explained that the purpose of the walk was to reignite the party spirit and to remind members of the task ahead.
He was impressed with the attendance though much publicity was not given to the walk, hence was very encouraging and that, the necessary attention given by the party faithful was also key.
“Despite the late invitation to few, the attendance was massive, members and sympathizers of the party showed their love and support”, Chairman Dudornu accounted.
On her part, the communication officer for the constituency madam Vivian Sallar pointed out that the constituency is undertaking various programmes to strengthen its support base.
Adding that, she is optimistic that, the NDC will take back the seat in 2020 for the current Executives are determined and focused to this agenda.
