The Ghana Chapter of the United Nations (GUNA) Youth Wing has appealed to the Ghanaian Christians and Muslims to maintain and strengthen rather the usual peace both religious bodies are enjoying.
The Youth Wing made this call following a fake ‘death prophecy’ by a pastor, ‘Reverend’ Owusu Bempah of Glorious Word and Power Ministry International Church.
This death prediction nearly brought unrest, after some Muslim youth went to vandalised the church properties belonging to the Reverend Owusu Bempah.
According to the GUNA Youth leader, Samuel Bamidele T. Ojo the two major religions, Christianity and Islam in the country are enjoying a certain enviable level of Co-existence, peace and tranquillity which they must not allow it to be destroy by the agent of the devil.
Mr. Ojo condemned the death prediction of Sheikh Nuhu Sheribuktu, the National Chief Imam; this sparked unlawful vandalism on the church property of Reverend Owusu Bempah by some Muslim youth.
The reverend did not end there, but also predicts the death of other prominent Ghanaians like the former President J. A. Kufuor and his wife, Mrs. Teresa Kufuor, President John Dramani Mahama, President Akufo-Addo and the Vice President, Mohammudu Bawumia.
Though, GUNA Youth leader, Mr. Bamidele Ojo discribed the various death predictions, he also joined the dissiting Ghanaians to condemed the Muslim youth who took the law into their own hands to vandalise the church properties.
He discribed the actions of those Muslim youth as uncivilized act, which made an innocent and helpless watchman at the Church premises to run for his life half necked.
Mr. Bamidele T. Ojo saluted the National chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sheribuktu for issuing a statement to distance himself and condemned the mob action that destroyed the properties of Glorious Word and Power Ministry International Church.
