Alabi’s  Foundation Shows Love to Vulnerable

The Gosky Alabi Bortiokor (GAB) Foundation, a Non -for profit Organisation ,has once again shown love to Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).

The Foundation which advocates for PWDs, has organised  an annual end of year part for the less privileged persons within the La, Ledzokuku and Krowor Municipalities.

The Foundation also presented various items and scholarship packages to selected beneficiaries from the aforementioned areas, to enable them meet some of their needs.

The yearly rituals was performed by the President of the Foundation, Professor ,Mrs. Gosky Bortiokor Alabi.
The NDC flag-bearer hopeful, Prof. Joshua Alabi, on his part , presented a cheque of an undisclosed amount of money to beneficiaries who are pursuing various courses in the Leweh University College, Accra.

Others received brand new wheel-chairs to replaced their worn-out ones. These new wheel-chairs were donated by one Bishop Charles Mills, which forms part of his quest to support the foundation in its project.

The project is to discourage PWDs from begging on the streets; and the get-together was to create awareness to the effect that disability is not inability.

In an interview with Therepublicnewsonline.com, the founder of GAB Foundation, Professor Gosky Alabi, disclosed that the foundation has been in existence for about 19 years and has impacted tremendously through its special advocacy for Persons with Disabilities.

She hinted that GAB started when some white persons from France came to donate very basic items to some persons living with disabilities, and she happens to be present at that event.

This , she noted gave her the inspiration to also start from somewhere and gradually the Foundation is touching lives of these vulnerable persons in the society.

Professor Gosky Alabi said over the years the foundation has supported and partnered Person With Disability to give scholarships for members who qualify to study at the tertiary level.

She mentioned that her Foundation would also give out clutches among others to others who need to replace theirs.

Prof. Gosky Alabi appealed to the District Assemblies to ensure timely release of PWDs funds to facilitate quick disbursement to enable its members better serve their needs.
