The people of Ledzokuku (Teshie) Municipal in the Greater Accra Region, are crying for the National Democratic Congress, NDC to come for their rescue.
The call was made by the disappointed Ghanaians during a Unity Walk in the area last weekend, when they came out in their numbers by roads to offer their support to the walk whilst making change sign, and pleading with the party (in Ga language) to rescue them from the Nana Akufo-Addo led ‘cruel’ NPP government.
The Ledzokuku branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) organized the walk dubbed “Family Walk”, aimed at uniting their front going into the election 2020.
The walk brought together party supporters, sympathizers and other well wishing Ghanaians who are mostly seeking to see a change in the political leadership of the country.
The walk also forms part of the Constituency post election plans to bring together past and present constituency and branch executives to forgive each other as the party prepares towards victory 2020.
The three and miles walk started from the Teshie Orphanage through some principal streets amidst music, singing and dancing ended at the Teshie preparatory Schhol park. The aged and the people with joined as they also clad in NDC colours.
Addressing the party people after the walk, Joshua Amidu Akamba, the NDC National Organizers , Joshua Amidu advised the party led by the Constituency and branch executives in the area to avoid factionalism and other negative actions that could thwart the efforts at bringing the party back to power.
He said Nana Akufo-Addo and his NPP government have failed Ghanaians, hence the need for the NDC supporters at any level to bury their differences after the elections and forge ahead in unity.
In his part, the NDC Chairman of the Ledzokuku Constituency, Ben Ayiku, re-echowed the need for the NDC supporters in the area to come together as one family to win the 2020 general elections.
He said the ‘family walk’ is to create awareness in the constituency that the part is still vibrant. In a chat with this portal, some on-lookers who came in their numbers were impressed and accused the organisers of poor publicity though they agreed the walk was massively petronised.
Some of the party gurus who also joined the ‘family walk’ were Danny Annang, former GA Regional and National Vice Chairman; Lawyer Tetteh Wayo; Daniel Amartey; former LekMA MCE; James Ayiku sime Medical Doctors who also want the NDC cover power.
