….But Chairman Denies Allegations
Credible information reaching Therepublicnewsonline.com has indicates that serious confusion rocks Ningo-Prampram NDC branch elections held last Sunday.
According to a source close to this portal the youth were resisting the Constituency Chairman, Mr. Michael Kwetey Tetteh who wants his choice elected in the branch elections to enable him pursue his ‘MPship’ ambition.
Following certain difficulties, elections in 4 out of 95 branches were put on hold during the nationwide branch elections; this, the chairman was accused of busily ‘fighting’ for his choice of party people instead of the people’s choice for the branch positions.
This move has resulted in serious fight between the youth and some executives on one side resisting the chairman moves, who called for huge police presence.
Our source, says the confusion started from Mango-Tsonya where the father of the chairman comes from, so he (chairman) could ground his intention.
The source added that as part his intention, no information went round to inform the party people of the branch elections until Sunday morning when things are set for the election.
The only party members who were aware of the elections were those who Chairman Kwetey Tetteh brought to contest the existing vacant positions, the source alleged.
To this effect, the party youth and the sympathizers in the constituency are calling for annulment of the elections held last Sunday afternoon for a re-run.
The source further alleged that all this moves was because chairman l Kwetey Tetteh wants to contest Sam George Nartey, the current NDC MP for the Ningo-Prampram Constituency.
In an interview with the constituency Chairman, Michael Kwetey Tetteh denied all the allegations and explained that GA Regional chairman, Joseph Ade Coker asked him to nominate 9 branch executives for each of the 4 branches where elections could not go on.
This Ade Cocker told him was because elections of executives at all level are over, and the party is preparing for the presidential primaries; so they cannot entertain any other election.
With this reason, he held a meeting with his constituency executives where they to agreed to go to the 4 out of 95 branches for the party people to choose 9 they can work with. This they did successfully at 3 branches and at the Dawenya branch was where the planed confusion started to mud process.
Chairman Kwetey Tetteh also pointed out that ahead of the Dawenya event, he received a text message that thugs would be sent to stop the process, he quickly reported to the police who asked me to go ahead with the event.
