Christmas message from NDC Greater Accra Women’s Organiser
As we celebrate Christmas, I wish on behalf of the Women’s Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and on my own behalf, want to take time to thank you all, Regional and constituency executives for your continued support and contributions to the work of our Party throughout this year.
This has been a year of opportunity for us all. It has also been a challenging year in many respects. But the challenges we have been through can only serve to unite our resolve to win and lead the people of Ghana out of the distress and hardships that the Akufo Addo administration has fostered on us.
Ghanaians continue to suffer under the inept leadership of President Akufo Addo. The economy has taken a turn for the worse. Poverty and hopelessness abound in our nation, and the roots of corruption have deepened to unprecedented depths.
The year saw significant challenges in the running of the affairs of our Party at the Branch, Constituency, Regional and at the National level. However, these matters are now behind us. A great deal more unites us. Lets use our upcoming Presidential primary to demonstrate our strength and resolve to unity for victory and to work to see any one among the aspirants emerged Leader and Presidential Candidate to lead us to victory in 2020.
Our country faces a choice in 2020! We should all work towards winning the hearts and minds of Ghanaians and making NDC the compelling choice for our nation. Let us direct all our efforts, energies and resources into winning the elections in 2020 to rescue our nation from further decline. In this endeavour we should reach out to all Ghanaians and build the broad coalition that will unite our nation for change, and usher in a new dispensation that will allow us to build a prosperous nation, and a fairer and just society, with equality of opportunity for all.
Let us enter 2019 with a determined resolve to work relentlessly with unity of purpose, a new sense of urgency, and a focus on the goal of seeing the election of an NDC government under the leadership of any of our aspirants who will be elected at the primaries. Let us reach out to all communities of Ghanaians and align our objectives for a possible work together to deliver the victory and change that Ghanaians deserve. A great opportunity awaits us. A year of destiny beckons. This is our opportunity!
As we celebrate this season, I urge us, to demonstrate the peace and goodwill that Christmas brings, in all that we do. Let us strive for peace in our homes, and in our nation Ghana. Let us put aside the mistakes of the past and reach for a higher ideal. And above all, let us remember those less fortunate than us, and in our own diverse ways, spread the season’s message of love, hope, charity and goodwill.
I also take this opportunity to extend warmth Season greeting to Madam Valerie Sawyer, Nii Kote Dzane, member of Council of State, Hon Sophia Ackuaku, MP for Obom/Domeabra, Hon Ernest Norgbey, MP for Ashaiman and Hon Linda Ocloo, MP for Shai-Osudoku.
I wish you all, branch and constituencies women organisers, your families and loved ones, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year, and God’s blessings, peace, and goodwill through 2019.
Mrs FELICIA Mekpoi Bortey
Greater Accra Regional Women’s Organizer, NDC
