Adenta NDC Youth vows to snatch seat back from NPP in 2020

The Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of the Adenta constituency in Greater Accra Region, Eric Lomo, has disclosed he is working tirelessly to recapture the Constituency’s seat from the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP).

According to him, with unity ad hardworking of the youth members ofNDC in the constituency, the party would gain a resounding victory in the 2020 general elections.

The NDC lost the seat to Hon Yaw Buaben Asamoah of the NPP after its candidate Alhaji Mohammed Adamu Rahmadan, failed to retain the seat having defeated sitting MP then, Hon. Emmanuel Nii Ashie-Moore at the party 2015 primaries.

However, speaking at a ceremony to inaugurate Youth Working Committee of the party in the Constituency last Sunday in Accra, Mr Lomo said, the Youth members of the party were more than ready to reorganise the grassroots base of the party to recapture the parliamentary seat.

He said, the mistakes that led the party to lose the seat would not be repeated and that it was not for nothing the seat is being described as a ‘traditional NDC seat for NDC.

Mr Lomo added that, the working committee is expected to work hand in hand with branch executives to mobilize and help in enhancing the capacity of youth front within the constituency.

To him, the incumbent NPP MP, Buaben Asamoah has no chance to retain the seat because the NDC faithfuls are poised to take back the seat.

He promised to allow every individual to display his or her God-given talent to reorganize the party, stressing that persons who lost in the constituncy election as well as former party officials would be brought on board to help.

“My able team and I are in for nothing but to reclaim the parliamentary seat and make Adenta the stronghold of NDC again,” he pledged.

He further implored all NDC members in the constituency to support the processes to unite the party for victory in the 2020 polls.

Thomas Mustapha Ashong, Regional Youth Organizer and Hon Theophilus Tetteh Chai, Regional Secretary who inaugurated the committee, took turns and advised them to give out their best and expect nothing but victory for the party in 2020.

Mr Ashong said, the NDC youth front would work till the party is declared victorious in 2020, stressing that, the NPP are prepared to use thugs to rig the eneral elections but they would be resisted by all means available to the party.

thee He said so far the acceptance of the selected members to be on the committee shows that the youth front of the party is poised to deliver victory come the next elections in 20202.

Mr Tetteh Chai also called for close collaboration among members of the committee and the branches as well as the constituency executives .

He expressed optimistic that with den of hard work and determination, the party would regain the parliamentary seat and maximise the presidential votes in the general election.
Present at the youth committee inaugural ceremony were Regional Organizer, Anthony Nukpenu, constituency Chairman, Alhaji Zakaria, former Parliamentary candidate, Adamu Rahmadan, former Municipal Chief Executive m Benjamin Angenu, among a host of other party executives from other constituencies.
