The National Secretary for Youth Affairs of the Ghana United Nation Association (GUNA), Comrade Samuel Bamidele Ojo has commended the Government for equipping the Ghana Politics Service with vehicles.
According to him, the 200 new fleet of Toyota saloon cars given to the Police administration was a strategic move aimed at repositioning the service to beef-up security in the country.
In a statement issued in Accra, Mr. Bamidele Ojo sees a commitment on the part of the Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo led government to strengthen the Police Service to ensure the safety and security of both Ghanaian and non Ghanaian residents in the country.
The National Secretary for Youth Affairs of the GUNA was though impressed with the government intentions, he was concerned about protection of people’s lives and properties.
The statement also urged the government to improve on capacity building of the Police in investigative strategies and other areas that would make the personnel more sufisticated.
Mr. Bamidele Ojo appeals to Ghanaian and foreign nationals resident in Ghana to support the police to curb crime in the country and to help maintain peace for a better Co-existence.
He pointed outed that “when the citizenry and the Police work together, we can be assured of our safety and security, and channel our energies into building a progressive and prosperous country”.
