Hon Hajia Alijata Sulemana Gbentie, an aspirant for Deputy National Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress( NDC) has vowed to mobilize women wing of the party to kick out President Nana Akufo Addo led New Patriotic Party( NPP) government if elected.
According to her, she would bring on board dynamic and pragmatic policies and programmes that would not only energize the NDC women but also woo more Ghanaian women onto the party to ensure victory come 2020.
” My vision as Deputy National Women’s Organizer is to mobilize NDC women for victory 2020 and beyond through a dynamic and dedicated women empowerment policies and programme. With that I am sure we will kick out Nana Addo and his NPP government,” she told THE REPUBLIC via phone, while on campaign tour in the Northern Region.
The former MP for Sisala East in the Upper West Region said, she would team up with her boss, the substantive National Women’s Organizer for capacity building programmes for the party, women’s organisers at the ward, district, constituency, regional and national levels.
This , she said would motivate and equip them with the modern day trend of politicking and on how to articulate the NDC social democratic policies that goes down to benefit the grassroots of the party and Ghanaians in general.
The Deputy National Women’s Organizer hopeful told the paper, “my focus and priority as deputy women’s wing organizer of the party is to increase our votes and would leave stone unturned to ensure victory.”
“When elected, I will work together with my team to create access for the women and to assess credit facilities directly from the banks with low interest rates.
“Yes we can do it. We have done it before. I will also replicate some of the women empowerment programmes I introduced in the sissala east when I was Assemblywoman and MP in all the 275 constituencies when given the nod,” Hajia Alijata assured.
Again, “I shall bring to bear the experience I have had over the years working first as an assembly member to District chief executive working through to become a member of Parliament in the 6th parliament of Ghana. I shall exhibit all that to garner support for my party to enable us recapture power back in 2020.”
Hajia Alijata said strengthening the capacity of women in the party and across would undoubtedly change the lives of many families in the country.
She assured the women wing of the party that she would actively engage them in party activities in order to keep them abreast with development plans for them from the party.
She maintained that she is determined to run a vibrant and innovative grassroots political administration that to create chance of the party in the 2020 elections stressed.
She added that as part of the women empowerment if voted into power, she would team up with her boss to train more women on communication skills to reach out to the grassroots.
The former Sisala East lawmaker said the NPP government has failed the people of Ghana in fulfilling the promises made in 2016, and imposed hardship on Ghanaians.
To that effect, she gave an assurance that the women’s wing would do everything possible from the grassroots of the party to ensure NDC win the next election with ease.
