A Development Queen Mother of Oblieman in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region,, Maaye Naa Okunko Adaku Mansa I, has inspected some bad roads within the Oblieman traditional area and assured to help in speedy construction .
The Queen Mother was joined by Oblieman Mantse , Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka I and Elders of the area to inspect the road which have become bad for residents and commuters.
According to the American based Oblieman Queen mother, it is long over due the dilapidated roads in Oblieman and its surrounding communities for many years are constructed to ease burden of residence and drivers.
Naa Adaku Mansa I, said the other components are gutters and portable drinking water Would be started concurrently.
These are expected to bring releaf, direct and indirect jobs to the youth and the people of the area and beyond.
Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka I, said in an interview with THE REPUBLIC explained that owners of affected building would not be compensated because their buildings are already on the road and they need to give way for the road construction that would benefit them as well.
He revealed that the construction should have started long ago, but government officials, whose names he concealed told him they have awarded the road to a contructor who was waiting for money before he moves to the site.
This continues escues kept affecting and retarding development of the area, the drivers and killing their pregnant women, hence, the move in collaboration with the Queen mother to have work commerce on the bad road and some bridges.
The happy drivers and the food vendors who were blessing the Queen mother and her chief told this portal in an interview that they have now known the afforementioned leaders are really thinking about them (drivers) and the residence of Oblieman.
The Engineer, Mr. George Padi, the country director, Gigacrete Company that manufactures modern material, gigacrete for road construction said the material (Gigacrete) will be used to construct the closed to 2 miles road.
He told this reporter that the factory would be situated in the town, employ the youth to help manufactur the gigacrete material for the construction work.
Mr. Padi hinted that the same material, a bullet proof, is also used housing throughout, and the youth would be trained as artisans to go out there using the material to build houses for interested people.
