NDC must Mobilize to rescue Ghana from NPP’s misrule-Kobby WOYOME

South Tongu lawmaker of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), Mr Wisdom Kobena Mensah Woyome, has called for unity amongst members of the party following the conclusion of the election of the party’s regional executives early this month, saying that the party must rescue Ghanaians from the misgovernance of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking to some Journalists in parliament on the fortunes of the NDC after its regional executives elections, Mr Woyome congratulated those who emerged as the new regional executives of the NDC across the country.

He observed that the immediate challenge before the newly elected regional officials of the NDC is to run an all-inclusive administration where the various interests within the party in the regions could find accommodation.

The Minority Ranking member on Youth and Sport Committee of Parliament reminded that Ghanaians are looking up to the NDC for unity in the party, because it would take a united and coherent NDC to sack the NPP government in 2020.

“I think the regional elections was impressive. There was no losers and winners. In all,it was the NDC that won. I believed our great party, the National Democratic Congress is, again, at the threshold of a historical moment. Just that we need to mobilized to rescue Ghanaians from this hardship economy. The people of Ghana at this moment look up to us to rescue the country from the misgovernment of the NPP, ” Mr Woyome stated.

He said after the elective regional delegates conference, the NDC is focused at sacking a government that deceived the people of Ghana into power by promising the youth millions of jobs annually, only to deliver millions of job losses monthly.

The soft spoken Legislator said, the Akufo-Addo led government has gained notoriety of deception and is repeatedly living in denial of its commitment to restructuring the economy, adding, ” it is now clear in the eyes of Ghanaians that there is a shape difference between the NDC and the NPP.”

Mr Woyome pointed that, members of the NDC must take pride in being able to hold a successful regional delegates conference, stressing that, “the peaceful regional conference confirmed how truly democratic political party is NDC.”

He said what is happening in the country calls for all hands to be on the deck and charged members of the party to do all within their powers to save the democracy and rescue Ghana from the ruling NPP mismanaged economy.

In his considered opinion,It is now abundantly clear to all discerning minds that the conspiracy of 2016 to grab power by all means hatched and executed by the NPP, succeeded in foisting a most disastrous government on our country.

Mr Woyome said, the NPP government that promised “Heaven on Earth” has turned out to be a colossal failure as the lies and propaganda that aided them into office has failed to sustain them in governance.

“They have not given up their deception habit of plain lies and propaganda but fortunately the vast majority of our people at home and around the world have all now seen through them. For almost two years in government it is futile to be blaming a previous government for their massive failures,” he jabs the Akufo-Addo government.
He mentioned that the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) is collapsing and patients now pay for services as against free services under the NDC administration, nothing, ” the general hardship, high inflation, transportation and other services has eroded the salary power of workers.”

The country, he said, was on the verge of collapse because of the mistake Ghanaians made in bringing the NPP to power.

He added that NPP had taken the democracy in the country for granted and had succeeded in reducing a good number of Ghanaians to third and fourth rate citizens, describing the NPP as a party with no affection for the poor of this country.
